Good way to start a persuasive memo asking for a job raise?

i have to do an example persuasive memo that would be asking a boss for a raise...i know the format of a memo, just not sure how to start the first paragraph asking for it|||I would never put it in a memo, have the guts to ask in person. This is a rough economy, expect a no this time around.|||first star by greeting him like 'how has your day benn going" or "good afternoon"etc then try to ask and talk nicely and try to show him that you have some experience maybe. i hope this helps u.good luck|||it must be appealing and they boss should know that you are deserving the raise.
