Writing a memo to a boss and persuade him or her to increase employee's salaries?

I study English and i should write a memo to a boss and persuade him or her to increase worker's salaries but i have problem writing that how should i start the memo and end it what are some reasons i should give the boss in order to convince him or her. Please help i'm sure my teacher will ask me to read it next session. I know i should do it by myself but i don't have any slightest idea.I'll appreciate everybody's help. The more reasons, the better|||I would respectfully like to request consideration of appropiate wage increases for employees that are eligible. There are a number of staff members who's talents and contributions enhance and promote the company and its objectives. I believe that these employees should be compensated accordingly for their service and loyalty in helping the company grow and efficiently serve customers.





This is how I would begin my introduction to the memo... hope this gives you some idea.

It has been brought to my attention that in the last week there have been at least three incidents involving associates bringing their pets to work. In all three cases the animals were brought inside the buildings. Out of respect for your co-workers, for health and safety reasons, and for the safety of the pets themselves, pets are NOT ALLOWED at work - both inside and outside the buildings. This is applies at all times and is without exception.





I appreciate everyone's fondness for their pets but work is not an acceptable place for pets.

Unless you work somewhere like a vet's, petstore, or doggy daycare it should assumed that pets are a no no unless granted approval. Even when I did dog walking I still asked if I was allowed to bring my own dog along and was told no. Good thing I asked!|||I would like to say that I work for a small company and one of my co-workers started to bring her pet in without permission she said her pet helped her with staying calm, etc but never asked the other co-workers would that be a problem.

my boss has asked me to write a memo to porters/canteen staff, photocopying staff etc thanking them for the work they did for us during the year and I am having trouble wording it. some help would be great. thanks|||A few general guidelines would help.


Try to keep it to a page.


Acknowledge the various positions, preferably individually with a line as to why they're important.


If something beyond thanks (which is good) is available--such as a party at the end of the year or a discount on something or whatever, mention that at the close.





I'm not sure what line of work you're in, but if you can explain why the staff was so important to any special projects, that could be good as well.





Let's say you do conference work and had some major events there this past year and the photocopying was something that included the presenters who managed to not have enough copies with them or found something at the last minute they needed done. You could say something like:





Our photocopying staff's dedication and flexibility made it possible for us to assist Conference X in being successful. When they discovered they were short 100 copies of a handout, our staff was able to deliver what they needed in under an hour without failing to deliver on other tasks they were committed to. This made everyone look good and provided a major benefit for the attendees as well.





In other words, when thanking folks, instead of a generic thanks for a good job, if you can be specific, it shows you were paying attention and also can't be just sent out at any old job, any year.





If there are a lot of staff categories, etc. the memo may need to be longer. I think if you think what YOU would like to be appreciated for, it will help you understand what you'd want written up for general distribution.|||In a long run. You'll need to learn and practice how to write by yourself. Costco has a book that shows all types of correspondence for every situation that calls for writing. You could copy from it and by change few words and makes it as your own personal note or letters. That might be a fastest way and a good start to learn to write. So what I asking is for the person that holding the event needs to pay me.|||You shouldn't need to write a memo to get paid. Hourly workers are entitled to their pay when they work. If they work more than 40 hours in a week, they are entitled to overtime pay (1 1/2 times their regular pay). You don't want to send out a memo and memorialize your lack of experience for the world, now do you? Why not just ask a quick question to your supervisor? Like: Will we be getting overtime on Saturday or our regular straight pay? Keep it light and casual!

To enter a credit:

So, you are correct. There really was no where near enough information to actually do anything about anything. In fact, right this very moment, for all we know, the next warning about the next attack may be in the report sitting on Obama's desk but it is only one of many such warnings.

How to make a memo pad?

Open your favorite computer program and design your note pad page. Use an 8 1/2" X 11" page horizontally and divide into thirds.


Design each page using your favorite graphic, or monogram. You could eve make this into a "shopping list". Print enough pages to make your note pad. If you print 40 pages, you will have a 120 page note pad. Using a paper cutter, cut the pages into thirds. Cut a piece of cardboard the same size.


Stack all the memo pages going the same direction. Hold the tablet by the top and tap to get everything lined up correctly.


Use a piece of wax paper larger than the tablets as your work surface. Place the cut paper sheets on top of the cardboard that has been cut to size. Make certain the sheets are even on the top end. Place a heavy book(s) on top of the tablet leaving about 1/2" or less of the top end of the sheets exposed. Using a paintbrush, paint glue along the exposed end. Be sure to coat liberally. Let dry overnight. Remove book and trim excess glue off if necessary. You may want to add a large magnet to the back so you can place on the refrigerator.|||Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a memo pad already made? Dept stores such as Wal-Mart or Hallmark would have these. By the time you add up the cost of your printer ink, paper and your time, it's not worth it.|||Google images will help although it will take a bit of searching and false leads after canines aren't the only thing called dogs. You could also try and free clipart

Does anyone attend the University of Phoenix and received a pell grant and loan? If so how long did it take after all your money to be disbursed into your student account for DEBIT MEMO to appear? How long after that did you receive you check? Thanks!|||I attend University of Phoenix and received both a grant and loans. My first block of classes began March 23, 09. The school received the money on March 30th. The debit memo appeared April 2, 2009. I receive the check about 2 weeks later. You can now request your disbursement be directly deposited into your bank account. This was helpful to me since my bank is a Bank of America and I live nowhere near one. The direct deposit takes about 7-14 business days after the school receives the funds.|||Once your loans are approved and the school receives them they have 14 days to review them and mail you any excess funds. The debit memo does not show up at any specific time, they can even wait to put that till they send the check.


However the Pell grant is the one that takes longer, after the school receives the Pell grant money they have up to 90 days to mail you the excess, so you could be waiting a while.





I personally received both excess checks my first year within a month of starting, however this year only my loan excess has come within the first month and I am now going on to two months waiting for my pell grant excess.

The help section of my computer program talks about debit memos and credit memos, but is doesn't tell me which way to remove the sales tax from an invoice that the customer paid and also sent a tax exemption form so as not to pay the sales tax. This was done in June and that month is closed so I can't just correct the invoice. I use to open the month back up and adjust the invoice, but the CPA's in the last audit told me to stop doing that...but they didn't tell me how to fix the adjustment that needs to be made. Thanks.|||You need to issue a credit memo to the person who deducted the tax thus crediting them for that amount because of the exemption and clearing up your books. Whether or not you actually send it to them (don't know if that is necessary since they did not pay it - you could just mark it FOR RECORD PURPOSES ONLY), you need to justify the amount deducted from the account. This is the best way I know of for clearing it up.|||For a sale, a debit memo is an invoice and a credit memo is for credits or removing something from sales. To remove the tax from the invoice, issue a credit memo.|||at my work we use credit memo's when something is returned, debit memos are when people over pay something.

I work in HR and I prefer to receive the full cover letter and resume as one attachment to the email, with a shorter memo in the email text. It is a little much to open an email and find a whole page full of information about someone.





In addition, I have to upload all the resumes I receive into a computer-based recruitment system. If the cover letter is in the text of the email, I have to copy and paste it into a separate document, save it and then upload it separately - which is a lot more work than I want to do when I've got 50-100 resumes coming in each day!

Convert a memo field into a text field in access 2007?

I have a fairly large DB and would like to convert a memo field into a text field. However I think that some or a few records might hold more than 255 characters. Is there a query or report that will check?|||There's a simple way to check the size of a field.





Create a new query from the table in question.





Add the memo field to the design then create 2 new calculated fields next to it like this:





Data: Trim([MEMO_FIELD])


Length: len([Data])





The first extracts the data only and removes any padding that would make all the fields the same length.





The second then tells you the length of the data without padding.





View the query results and you'll see the length of the data in each. Sorting by the Length field will quickly show you if any fields contain over 255 characters.

I have an assignment for school, to write a memo from an article regarding anything in the hospitality industry.


I wrote one on the Pro's %26amp; Con's of being a restaurant manager. I sent it to the teacher %26amp; he TOTALLY trashed it. it was completely wrong.


Now I am freaking out (usually I enjoy writing and am pretty good at it).


For starters, I used bullet points, he said it should be in paragraph form. The article I used was pretty long (6 pages)- should I choose a shorter article?

If your teacher had already provided his thoughts on an effective memo, you should follow it almost exactly. Most teachers like to see that their students are listening and following instructions. Also, business memos do not require creative writing (which you may enjoy and are good at).

1. You have to answer his memo in writing, send him a memo back.


2. Let your answer be very professional, say something like "I do not appreciate your tone" or something.


3. Send a copy of his memo and your to the big boss.

2) There is insufficient detail in the memo field to adequately represent what you wanted to say; and





3) Cashing of the cheque does not represent acceptance of the terms, only acceptance of the payment. To make it binding at all you would need to spell out things exactly and then have a spot specific to those conditions for someone to sign to directly accept the conditions.|||I think you might have a shot at it with the right attorney. After all, companies send checks (with conditions) out all the time and if you cash them you are assumed to have agreed to their fine print.

You could make one cheaper than you could buy one unless the purchased one is quite cheap, but only if you used reasonably inexpensive materials, etc. Or you could make one with expensive materials which would cost a lot more. Or anything in-between. So that's almost impossible to answer.

He has now told me (after everyone knows it's mine) that he is giving it to another colleague. It's embarassing but they are legally able to do this in the US.

In MS Access 2007 - How am I able to view mutiple lines of data in a memo field in a table or subform?

I have set up a dB with some memo fields however I cannot see all lines of entered text when I view the field in either a table or sub form (I can see it in the report). I figure its a simple filed setting but can't seem to find it. Any help is greatly appreciated.|||Put the mouse cursor in the field (or control) and press Shift-F2.





A "Zoom" window will pop up, allowing you to scroll through the contents of the field.

How to photoshop a fabric memo board?

Any ideas on how to create one of those fabric memo boards with the ribbons for holding photos and such using photoshop? I know how to make the cork board memo boards but I'm looking to create the fabric ones with the ribbons and I can't figure out how to make the ribbons using photoshop.
