What are the most important memo and letter formats to know for an admin assisstant?

- Is there website out there that offers some good examples?|||Formats aren't what they used to be - required full-block for this, semi-block for that. There are samples everywhere, but the best "type" to seek, is that of a larger corporate / law office. OR try the business department of a large college or University. Just search it out online - "memo templates" or "letter templates".|||I don't know if any website could offer you something that would be a 'one size fits all' mostly because each company tends to want something slightly different.

I'll date myself a little here - I took Dun %26amp; Bradstreets Certified Professional Office Skills and I hate to tell you they never referred to a block style letter (except for informal use).

Many courses are available today that you an also take online which can help you understand the general layouts and when they're used.

Good luck!|||Usually, there are existing letter/memorandum formats being observed in an office. It's inherent for you to know about them rather consulting website for other formats which may differ from what's being used. But the most important thing for an administrative assistant is to know how to write correct and effective communication. The format will play second fiddle if the letter is good.
