I need to inform my boss of something important, is a memo appropriate?

I need to have something writing stating to my employer a change in availability to work. What is the most appropriate way to present this correspondence? A memorandum maybe?|||That seems proper. You could visit him in his office and let him know, too, or call and leave a brief message on an answering machine? There are tons of ways you could go about it. Try not to stress too much, though. If you'd feel more comfortable telling him in a memo, then do so. |||Since this is relating to your work, this is official. A formal memo is the right thing to do it. If the matter is purely a personal matter, then an informal memorandum is o.k.

|||If it's something that important, a face to face meeting with him/her would be most appropriate. In that way, your boss could ask you questions he/she would need in order to make an intelligent decision. As you begin the meeting, you can hand him/her your correspondence. You boss would understand the situation, and understand what is on the correspondence. Just sending a memo would require you boss to get in touch with you anyway in order to ask questions. Best of luck.|||you can also send him/her an email and plan a meeting with him or her then handle the memo and they can ask question straight away to you and will understand you better.

Good luck
