How to write memo to my proffesor explaining my absence form classes for next week because of an operation?

Please help me! I don't know how to write formal letter, and I need to write a memo to my proffesor that I'll be absent from classes next week because I'll have opperation.|||An informal note is fine. Just be sure to spell correctly. If possible attach a note from the physician.





I wish you a successful operation and a speedy recovery.|||If you are a College student there is no need to write a formal letter explaining your absence! I would just verbally let him/her know your specific situation. You may also have the option of e-mailing him/her if they are too busy to see you face-to-face. You are still responsible for the material in your syllabus, so as long as you keep up with your homework, you will be fine.


If your operation is going to prevent you from keeping up with your syllabus requirements, then I suggest you make arrangements with your professor to make up your work or ask for an extended due date on your assignments.





If you are a high school student, you still do not need to write a formal letter. Your parents will get a note from the doctor and your absences will be excused. You will be given as many days as you missed school to make up your work. You are still responsible for turning in all missed assignments. Just talk to your teacher(s) and let them know what your situation is; Teachers/Professors are very understanding creatures!!
